This Week In Pics

One of the rare moments I got him to wear his helmet

Mother's day dinner on the patio

We were having tons of fun in the rain one afternoon with
the girls

Helping me in the back with some gardening

Owen and his best buds

You can never go wrong with bubbles

This week was a bit of a rough one in regards to accidents,
starting with this face plant on the street

While grocery shopping Owen found this tube of
cookie dough and wouldn't put it down

I have no idea how he knew what it was but he loved it!
Of course we had to buy it

This Week In Pics

Rob was away at a conference this week so my parents stayed for the first half to help out. The weather was very spring like, so very unpredictable, which made the week a bit more challenging.
It was great to have Oma and Grandpa visit for a few days and of course I didn't get any photos! Owen loved having them around and still asks for "Oma Ganpa".
We were outside when Rob arrived home on Friday and Owen was so excited to see Dad. It was a long week but a very rewarding one.

Having fun with the camera

Walking around in Robs shoes

Nothing better than a box and his cars on a rainy afternoon

Testing out the new planters I picked up

While my parents took Owen out for a few hours I got to

Family Celebrations

This past weekend we did another celebration of Owen's birthday. It was a perfect opportunity for all of my family to get together, a very rare occurrence! Somehow I managed to not take many pictures as usual, but here are a few to enjoy. It was a beautiful day and we loved having everyone over, we hope to do this again soon.

Owen trying on some goofy looking glasses

Somehow my Dad managed to catch one of my better parenting moments

This was the first time we filled up the table, eight adults
and one wee one

Looks like we could fit a few more in!

Best part of a birthday, presents and the paparazzi
Thanks to Jamie for capturing a beautiful moment with Oma
and a shot of personality!

Thanks to Casey, Sean, Leanne and Jamie for the
fantastic bike helmet

Oma and Grandpa stayed for a few extra days and it has
been so much fun

TWO

Yup, two years old. This past year has been an interesting one and a fast one.
Owen is very chatty and picks up on new words daily. He can be very opinionated some days, very typical for a two year old. He loves to be outside all the time and when he sees the other kids out there he will put on his boots and run to the door yelling "outside, outside".
We still have him in the crib as I am not ready to deal with him coming out of his room when he feels like it and he still fits in his crib. Potty training has sort of started, I say sort of because he's showing signs that he's ready so I'm easing into it, no rush just yet. If we do some diaper free time he is really good about sitting on the potty to go to the washroom but not so happy about me dumping it down to toilet. As in total meltdown for the past two mornings!
He knows the alphabet and can count up to eleven, he has even counted backwards from five successfully. Owen loves anything with buttons, knobs or levers. I pulled out my sewing machine recently and he loves to move all the levers and gauges. He also loves when Rob pulls out his tools to do some work and he will happily help out Dad.
Lately my favourite thing he does is want hugs from both Rob and I at the same time, usually in the morning in bed or when Rob goes to work in the morning. Owen will pull us both in and wrap his arms around our necks and say "hugs".
We love him so much.

There were lots of balloons waiting for him on
the morning of his birthday

He started to get the hang of it

A little bit of chalk and lots of sun for the weekend

He's getting much more confident when climbing

Even going down the big slide without my coaxing

He slept like this on me for over an hour. I loved it

Bubbles with the kids

He wanted to sit on the potty this morning while
watching TV

This Week In Pics

It's a terrible pic but the only one I got. Owen and James
playing together, I love it.

Owen was pretty excited to get his Firetruck out of the shed
and take it for a spin

He managed to very quickly climb up to the next bar
before I got over there to stand by

It was all about going up and down for the next 20min

Nap times are getting tougher so sometimes I just have
a sleep with him, why fight it!

Nicer weather = outside every day, all day.

He wants to be just like us so his sunglasses were
required for our walk

Owen has to check out everyones yard, thank goodness
for his fantastic orange jacket. So much easier
to spot him

This Week In Pics

Getting back to our regular routine and going
to the play group again is always fun

Thank goodness for the warmer weather, Owen has been
loving playing outside

In the four days we were up north, almost three feet
of snow melted and the tulips
have begun to sprout

Mr. Smiley Pants

I'm having a hard time giving in to the fact
he needs a haicut

A snack in each hand while riding his bike, what a boy

In my parents laundry room. In almost a year Owen
has grown six inches

My parents latest project, tapping trees.
40L of sap boils down to 1L of syrup

While we were there my Mom's chickens arrived, Owen
loved going down to the "Chicky poop" to see them

This Week In Pics

Owen and I are spending a few days this week up at my parents place. Leanne joined us which made the drive much easier thanks to her Winnie the Poo videos. I have taken very little pics up until now as we have both been sick and really not up for much.

This is what happens when naps are skipped, asleep by 7pm!

Owen loving his new fire truck from Oma and Grandpa

He loves running around without a diaper on

Too big for the sink, it's now bathtime in the big tub

My parents have tapped some maple trees and we got to see the
production in action

Owen was far more interested in the mud

One of the rare moments of quiet, he enjoys reading
