Pic Update

As I write this, these two are at the Toronto Rock game tonight

The kids were quietly playing in the basement while we
were relaxing upstairs, suddenly we were
attacked by this little lego ninja

She stayed in character all day, even while doing dishes

We went to Owen's school to watch his Karate
graduation

It was an 18 week course offered during one of his
recess periods

He was presented with his next level belt, of course
Kate had to be right beside him as soon as she could

And you can see why she loves him so, he is so
wonderful with her

Kate started gymnastics class mid month

This is the first time she has willingly let me put
her hair up so of course I had to take a pic

We took our monthly trip to the farm and got to see
all the baby lambs out enjoying the sun

They weren't so small any more.

These little piglets were only a week old and so incredibly cute
Came home with some beef bones and chicken feet
and made up a big pot of broth

These two just being cute

Kate wants to take the wagon when we pick up
Owen from school but just so she can
pull everyone! (not Owen in the wagon)

I've gotten my sourdough to a happy place as of late

Sunday/Monday are my usual bake days, here's
last weeks apricot, lavender and walnut loaf

We have upped our bread making and have started
ordering our flour from 1847 Stone Milling. The results
have been noticeable and we couldn't be happier.

Our March Break Getaway

The original plan was for Owen to spend a few days up at Oma and Grandpa's but it was a last minute decision for Kate and I to join him, Rob still had to work! Our drive up was pretty smooth with a quick stop at an old friends from university.

Upon our arrival Owen showed Kate around the set
up his play areas

Luckily there were some costumes for Kate to
dress up in, which she just loved

Owen has become quite fascinated with rocks and gems so
Oma was kind enough to donate some of her incredible collection
to him. Both kids loved cleaning them up

Oma also donated to my latest fascination of gardening. Here are my seeds
for this years vegetable garden

Kate loved to always be helping Oma with whatever
she was doing

Which worked out pretty well while Owen and Grandpa
had their Nerf battles

These two loved hanging out together for the week just
playing from morning till bed time

We had one day of perfect weather so we all headed
out for a snowshoe

Grandpa was awesome pulling the sled and leading the way

It's hard to see but the kids are way off at the bottom of
the hill, the trail made a perfect luge run
We came across these fresh prints, I'm pretty sure
they were not from a neighbours pet cat.
Any ideas who made these?

Snack time on the trail

While my parents looked after the kids and everything else I indulged
myself with some self sewing. Here is my first attempt at making
a quilt with only five more blocks to make

I also managed to get out for a snowshoe
by myself, truly indulgent

Photographic proof that I did go by myself

We made pizzas one night, always a hit

Once the kids were in bed we enjoyed the quiet and
warmth of the fire before falling asleep
Thank you Mom and Dad for a fantastic mini vacation
