This week In Pics

Over the past couple of weeks, Owen has
been planting me a tree garden so that in
the spring they will grow big a beautiful,
I haven't had the heart to tell him otherwise

I came downstairs one morning to find this.
He had asked Rob how to spell the words
but did it all himself

Prepped and ready to start my tamale
production line

I ended up with two trays, pretty
happy with my first attempt

This is the only pic I took on the 22nd when we hosted our family get together,
I guess between hosting, helping and looking after Kate I forgot.
It was a fabulous get together, we loved having everyone over to our place
and couldn't have pulled it off without everyones help.
Thank You

Owen got some new pirate gear from Oma
and Grandpa

This is how I wear my hair 99% of the time

It has gotten quite long, so...

I decided it was time for a change!

Helping Oma roll out pizza dough for dinner

Helping finish the pizza! This was her first
try of any food and she loooooved it. I am
no longer able to hold her and eat at
the same time as she has to grab everything

Oma and Kate getting some one on one time

My cuties

So I made muffins this week and Kate got
hold of one of the liners and licked it
clean. She was pretty upset when it was
all gone

My Aunt made hats for everyone this year
and even Kate got in on the action, so sweet

Sibling Love

Owen has figured out that the goofier he is the more Kate will laugh and smile. He loves having a full time audience with her and his "toot dance" always gets a good reaction.

Weekly Update

It has been a busy couple of weeks with Owen home for the holidays and Rob back at work but we survived! Owen went back to school on the 9th and was really excited to go and see all his friends, I was happy to get back to our regular routines (aka: me time)
I have offered to host the family Christmas gathering this year and it has been postponed to this coming weekend so we are in prep/cleanup mode this week as we are expecting about 20 for lunch! I'm really excited to be finally doing this as we have been at the house for three years now and no large gatherings so far!

He loves holding his sister

A double batch of cider and some rhubarb wine waiting
to be bottled

Owen has been enjoying the white board
that Rob installed in the playroom

I have no idea what these two were
watching but they were hooked

I'm not sure if she's laughing at my hat,
her hat or how funny we both look

Hi Mom

We've had a few nice days so it has been
great to get out for a walk after dropping
Owen off at school

Somehow he alway finds a stick and has to
poke everything for our
walk to and from school, we have a
collection at our front door

I made yoghurt for the first time this week

Thinking I may have removed too much whey

Owen is not a fan of smoothies but did
enjoy this one. Beet, grapefruit, blueberries,
mango, ginger and water

With teething, learning to sit and going
through a growth spurt it's been a
tough week for this little one

Her new fave spot

Her squats are impressive

Oh yeah, this not so little babe was
four months on saturday

2017

Owen's gift from Santa, completed in about two days with no help

Snuggles with daddy

You can tell it was an exciting few days
as this was taken on our way to
boxing day lunch!

Now that she's started to sit there is
no going back to lying down

Owen being a ham for his sister,
just to hear her laugh

Rob has finished the basement reno's and we all love it

A Happy New Year's eve

I have been needing a creative outlet/stress
release lately and have taught myself to
crochet. Here is the third attempt at
this very squishy blanket

New Years day and Kate rolled over on her own
while I was in the kitchen, she was
pretty pleased with herself
as she did it three more times

Monday we went to visit Leanne and Jamie

Thankfully it was a beautiful day so to the
park we went

Owen love exploring everything along the way

"look mom, I'm walking on water"

Leanne and Owen had so much fun climbing

He was quick to join her

Kate's latest favourite position

While grocery shopping, Owen asked me to stop and wait while he ran back
to get something. Coming out of the aisle, laughing, he shows me this and
convinces me he has no idea what it says. Based on his reaction when I
told him, I'm going to guess he had no idea. Proving my point that we are
all genetically programmed to fart humor.
