Seven Months

Seven months, just seven short months!

Owen finally decided to roll over for the first time yesterday, on the change table of course, and has been happily doing it whenever he's now given the chance. Now the question remains, will he crawl or walk first? I still think it will be walking. Well shall see.

In regards to food, I have given Owen broccoli, carrots, green beans, apple and cucumber with great success. Turns out the cucumber is great as a teething treat, it's cool and great to chew on with his two bottom teeth. The top two have been giving lots of grief for the month and are slowly moving to the surface, these two appear to be more troublesome than the first two.

The biggest thing this month is sleep or I should say lack of. He used to be able to sleep five or more hours straight a night but something has changed and now it's averaging two and a half hour intervals and unable to fall asleep again without nursing. So, Owen and I have been spending a lot of time together and Rob has been sleeping on the sofa. Needless to say it has been tough but this temporary set up is at least enabling us to sleep a bit. I am getting desperate so my spare moments are now going to be spent on reading the book "The No Cry Sleep Solution" by Elizabeth Pantley and reteaching Owen how to fall asleep on his own, without the need to nurse. We tried to let him cry it out but after a particularly tough two hour session of crying I finally caved and nursed him to sleep. A soother is just something else for him to play with and there seems to be no interest in his thumb. So off I go to read and start to road to a baby who can hopefully sooth himself back to sleep.

Any suggestions or tips are welcomed with sleepy eyes and open arms.
