Eight Months

I know you were expecting vacation pics but today Owen is eight months old so the beach pics will have to wait. To be fair, all these pics were taken in Jamaica. This month Owen is getting that much closer to becoming mobile, he has become very quick at pulling himself up from sitting and is starting to cruise, walk along a couple of steps while holding on to something like his crib. He seems to always be in some sort of motion, very rarely ever sitting still. Once he becomes fully mobile we will have our work cut out for us.

He is working on his fourth tooth, the second of the top front and it's so darn close. I am hoping for a little break, even a week, before the next ones start. He has been so great in dealing with the discomfort of the whole process. He has his fussy nights which result in very little sleep for Rob and myself as well as days where he just wants to be held but over all still a happy guy.

I have been introducing more foods to him, still with great success and am trying to give him two to three meals a day of solid foods (pureed) which he seems to like. We will put him in his high chair and he will open his mouth like a little bird waiting for his food. While on vacation he surprised us by grabbing the straw of my drink and successfully drinking out of it! So it looks like sippy cup and drinking straws are in and bottle is out, not that he ever took it.

He is starting to show signs of getting upset when he can't see me, sometimes he's ok with it and sometimes he gets upset. I guess this is a good thing but a tough one all the same. I think the more people he is exposed to the better right now, hopefully this stage passes quickly.

He weighs around 21lbs, can't get a height measurement on him right now because he is just so squirmy but he's pretty tall and his hair continues to fill in beautifully. He's really starting to look like a little boy now.
