Four Months

This one is a bit late, oops! This past weekend Owen hit four months old and we are really seeing his development into a little guy come quickly. Weighing in at 15 lbs and measuring 65 cm he's getting to be a big boy.

He has begun to purposefully reach for things and bring them to his mouth, where everything ends up! He loves to stand and be part of the action and is now learning that sitting is just as good, all with our assistance of course but surprisingly little, and with that comes much better head stability, lot less bobble head. He is laughing and learning to use his voice, sometimes frightening himself and most times making me laugh. As well, he is so incredibly interested in everything around him, always checking something out with those big blue eyes of his, soaking in as much information as he can. He loves to sit on the balcony with me and watch the traffic go by, or hang out in the park playing with the grass, seeing all the trees and flowers, watching and listening to all the birds. I love his fascination with the world around him.

But I have to say that one of my favorites is seeing his reaction when Dad gets home. His eyes light up, a big smile emerges and the two of them cuddle and play for a for a while. Sometimes Owen even gets super chatty and tells Rob all about his day, at least that's what I think he's telling him.

Owen has always been a great sleeper and going down for the night has usually been not much trouble but lately it has been more of a challenge getting him to sleep during the day when he needs a nap and down for the night. I'm not sure if it's teething that is making him uncomfortable or the fact that he is so interested in his surroundings that it's just harder for him to go down. Either way the past couple of weeks has been a bit of a challenge for me and some days I feel like a complete zombie.

He seems to know this and flashes me one of his gorgeous smiles instantly making everything better.
