Family Reunion Time and Weekly PIc Update

We had a great time relaxing up at my parents place. The past couple of weeks have been pretty fun, enjoying the summer as much as we can. This past weekend we headed up to Carlisle for a family reunion and celebration of my Aunt and Uncles 50th wedding anniversary.

In typical Sherri fashion, I didn't get enough pics as I was having too much fun catching up with everyone. So, enjoy the few I did manage to shoot!!

Our neighbours kindly gave us this house and Owen
quickly made himself comfortable and called his friends

Thanks to my parents, we roasted a delicious chicken
on our bbq, I didn't get a chance to shoot it when
it was finished as the boys followed me into the
house and started eating it immediately

Owen kept calling me while I was in the kitchen. He was
so proud to show me the ice cream shop he had created
and of course crash it as soon as I saw it!

Enough paint arrived on Friday to keep Rob quite busy
so Owen and I were off to the Kelly reunion together

We arrived Saturday just in time to join in some games,
Oma was a great sport.

Dinner time and we were all able to sit together and
catch up with each other

A very busy and exciting day and Owen was wiped out,
happy to cuddle with Oma around the camp fire

Mini Vacation Time

It has been a long week with Owen getting over a stomach bug and Rob trying to get more renos finished so on Owen's request, he and I have headed up to my parents for a few days. I'm enjoying a break, grandparents are enjoying time with Owen and Rob has an empty house to be able to work at his own pace.

Here are a few pics of the past week.

Last weekend was hot, real hot. Naked in the pool
eating popsicles was the best way to enjoy

He's been asking for a couple of weeks for a haircut

I was so sad I chopped off his curls

You know it vacation time, crazy manicure and some
yummy wine

Rob working late this week removing all the grout

I somehow made time to bottle a double batch
of cider and a batch of mead

I bought a bottle tree this week and has made the
prep process way easier

Thursday afternoon we arrived at my parents place
in Bancroft

and so were the hens.

Friday afternoon we all went to the beach

This Week In Pics

Uncle Sean stopped by Monday afternoon and stayed
the night, investigating his truck and bike
trailer were top priority

Tuesday was Owen's first class trip so I took a day off
work to join. We all boarded the big yellow bus
and headed north to the Elmvale Zoo

We were all pretty excited

Thursday was greeted with fever and bad stomach pains

We stayed home, cuddled and made jello jigglers both
Thursday and Friday

Turns out this crazy vine is hops, growing wild in
our backyard. It has climbed over 20 feet up the
evergreen tree and all along the fence. Looks
like I'll be adding hops to my cider this fall.

Pic Update

I have no idea what these are but picked up a few
for our hanging planters, they are so pretty

Canada day we had Margaret, Andrew and Valrey
join us for a bbq lunch and we all had
such a great visit, hence no pics!!

Owen woke up that morning and said we had to make
a chocolate cake for Canada's Birthday, so that's what
we did...at 7 am!

With all the excitement Owen passed out at 6:30 that
night so Rob and I enjoyed the evening on the deck

While Owen and I went back to school/work for the rest
of the week, Rob took a few vacation days to do some
repairs around the house

Mostly repairing loose drywall nails and removing the
wood trim that went upstairs

As with most repair jobs, one thing led to another and...

This happened! The guys took the closet out which
widened our entrance, I love it already.

Owen and I did some errands while Rob did

We also spent some time at the park

And came back to find the neighbours had set up a
lemonade stand, obviously we had to
try it out

Then back to work

With Owen offering to help whenever he could 

Weekends Owen never sleeps in but weekdays Rob or I
are usually getting him up. I came in one morning
to find him snoring away like this!

Went out for lunch with a few people from work and
enjoyed some of the best sushi I've ever had, a
nice way to end a loooong week at work
